FLYING IN TO SAVE THE DAY

"All children need heroes, some need SUPERHEROES!"

Ever wanted to be a superhero? Well now's your chance!

Bear Cottage in Sydney - the only children's hospice in NSW - has made a huge leap in the past few years with the launch of an annual Superhero Week in July supporting children with life-limiting or terminal illnesses.

This campaign launched a few years ago to help raise funds for Bear Cottage to be able to provide respite and therapy services, and to help these children not only rest, but also to help them achieve the most out of life all with a big cheesy grin!

2018 CAMPAIGN GOALS:
This year, the fundraising goal for Superhero Week 2018 was to raise $300,000!
And with an amazing amount of support from both individuals and teams donning their capes, their total for this year coming in at $242,218!!

WHAT DOES THIS CAMPAIGN DO FOR THE CHILDREN?
Superhero Week allows individuals to send in donations or dress up to raise funds for the children and to create some "SuperHero magic".

From a PR perspective, Bear Cottage has clearly thought a lot about what their inputs into this campaign are; they know their cause, their audience and how to attract the wanted attention to help their cause. By making use of bright colours both in Bear Cottage's website and in the fundraising site for Superhero Week, it certainly catches the reader's eye.

They've looked at the fundamentals of their inputs, how their message is shown in the media with plenty of articles from the Daily Telegraph covering the superhero antics, community involvement, to children and adults donning their capes at their workplaces!

Bear Cottage have truly done a fantastic job at running a great campaign with an even better cause and I know I certainly am looking forward to transforming myself into my alter ego in 2019 for Superhero Week!
